The Adams County Sheriff’s Office and Metro Denver Crime Stoppers are seeking information on a cold homicide from 2022
COMMERCE CITY, CO (Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026) – The Adams County Sheriff’s Office continues to seek information regarding the tragic homicide of Alaina “Evan” Martinez, which occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. on October 15, 2022, in the 900 block of Dakin Street in unincorporated Adams County.
Deputies responded to reports of a drive-by shooting that left Alaina deceased and multiple others injured. Investigators believe a dark blue early-2000s Chevy Tahoe was involved in the incident. That vehicle has since been recovered.
We are partnering with Metro Denver Crime Stoppers and urge anyone with information about the vehicle, those responsible, or the events leading up to the shooting to call 720-913-7867. Tipsters who provide information may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000. To remain anonymous and qualify for a reward, tips must be submitted directly through the Crime Stoppers tipline.
“Behind every cold case is a family still waiting for answers. We owe it to this victim and their loved ones to pursue every lead, which is why we’re asking for the public’s help,” said Adams County Sheriff Gene Claps. “We want the public to know that no piece of information is too small and could be what we need to help solve this case.”
Detectives continue to actively investigate the case and follow up on tips as they are received. We remain hopeful that our community will come forward with information that will help us secure justice for Alaina and the other victims.
