The Adams County Sheriff’s Office does not condone or accept such behavior, and we stand united with our partners across the nation in condemning this violence.

BRIGHTON, Colo. (Friday, Sept. 12, 2025)The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is deeply saddened by the two recent acts of violence in school shootings in Colorado and Utah on September 10. While these incidents did not happen in our jurisdiction, we stand firmly against such acts of violence.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office does not condone or accept such behavior, and we stand united with our partners across the nation in condemning this violence. These acts of violence are heartbreaking, unacceptable, and stand in direct opposition to the values of safety, respect, and community that we uphold. Schools should be places of safety, hope, and opportunity—not fear.

Violence has no place in our schools, and the impact of such incidents extends far beyond the victims, affecting families, classmates, educators, and entire communities. Our heartfelt condolences go out to everyone involved, their loved ones, and their communities as they begin the difficult process of recovery and healing. Violence in places of learning is unacceptable, and we will continue to work tirelessly to keep our schools safe.
