A deputy monitoring a prior fire scene on Bronco Road had his vehicle window struck by a pellet early Monday, leading to a pursuit and the arrest of a 36-year-old suspect.

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (Monday Nov. 10, 2025)On Monday, Nov. 10, at 5:39 a.m., a deputy was in his personal vehicle in the 800 block of Bronco Road conducting security at the scene of a structure fire that occurred on Nov. 9.

While on scene, he noticed an occupied vehicle drive past him and park on the opposite side of the road. The deputy then heard a popping noise, and his front passenger window shattered.  Deputies later found a strike point on the deputy’s window consistent with a pellet impact.

Other deputies responded to the area and located the suspect vehicle. A pursuit ensued that continued onto southbound Interstate 25. The suspect attempted to enter Interstate 270 eastbound, but the vehicle struck a divider and crashed. The two occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.

A K-9 unit was deployed, and both suspects surrendered shortly after. They were taken into custody without further incident.

A search of the vehicle revealed a pellet gun and suspected methamphetamine. No injuries were reported during the initial incident or during the arrest.

Luis Salomon Juarez, 36, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle eluding, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief ($1,000–$2,000), and possession of a controlled substance (more than 4 grams).

The second suspect was released without charges.

The case will be presented to the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for filing of charges. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

At this time, there is no evidence connecting this incident to the structure fire call.

Anyone with information or who witnessed either incident is encouraged to contact the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at 303-288-1535.
